Having a pre-wedding photoshoot later at 3.00AM. Yes, its this unearthly hour. Need to wake up at around 2am later.. still thinking whether should I sleep for a few hours anot, or stay awake the whole time, until I reach home at 8am later…..

this is a BADLY neglected blog. why? coz i procastinate a LOT *oops* done a lot of makeup jobs during this meantime, however whenever it comes to the computer, I’m juz lazy to blog. till then, let me get back my writing bug………..

Where will I be in Dec?

Its confirmed that I’ll be somewhere in Holland in the 2nd week of Dec *woohoo!*

So if there is any wedding couples… photographers… that are planning to do photoshoot somewhere in Europe side and is planning to get makeup artiste over *ahem*, feel free to contact me to discuss further (flying from 1 Europe city to another is MUCH cheaper to fly from Singapore – Europe lor)

My free schedule will be either the 1st wk of 3rd of Dec. So what are you waiting for?

record breaker!

went to do a family members/sisters makeup yesterday evening.
did 7 pax continuously, within 4hrs… around 36mins per pax with makeup and hairdo.
never did so many people at 1 go… very happy that I broke my personal speed also.
but then.. its very killing!!
1st time in 4yrs of makeup that after finish working, my right hand can feel PAINFUL lor!!
of coz follow after that is total collapse, no energy to even stand up
gosh….

what’s happening to me….?

I think I should be rated the LAZIEST makeup artiste ever.
This blog is like… FOREVER NEVER UPDATE! *oops.. guilty smile*

anyway there are a lot of new things happening to me lately. the more significant ones would be:

- I did my 1st magazine cover! April March issue of T3 magazine

- Editorial spread in Playeur magazine (still pending for month of publication)

- My 1st overseas job and I’m flying off in less than 12hrs! to Perth, for client’s pre-wedding shoot *woohoo!*

- Latest and MOST EXCITING NEWS! Someone from a reputable well-known makeup school in Singapore actually called me up and ask ‘are you interested to join us as a part-time instructor?’ WAHHH!!! so honoured to hear this! shall go down and speak to them further after my Perth trip

wohoo! I’m sooooo happi, coz i finally get to have my own domain and showcase my makeup works there.

No more using awkward programs like multiply… fotopic etc, to promote my works. Well, those programs aren’t that bad and quite user friendly too, but still, it lacks that certain ‘professionalism’.

It’s currently still under ‘renovation’. Pls pardon me, while I’m working hard to serve you better (hah! sounds like some advert from somewhere??)

what have I been busy with?

yeah exactly… what have I been busy with? I’m busy being SICK! and being sick on a weekend that I’m most busy. Last wknd is one of the most ‘happening’ weekend I’ve ever had ever since I started doing makeup.

How happening is that?

Sat 4.30am – wake up

Sat 5.30am – reach client’s house to do makeup for 2 ppl

Sat 7.30am – reach another client’s place to do shoot for Motor Culture magazine

Sat 3.00pm – reach West Coast McDonald’s to do shoot

Sun 11.00am – reach studio to do makeover shoot for client

Sun 12.30pm – leave to go do another shoot for another model. All the way till 8pm before my day ends

Despite the super packed schedule, it is a very rewarding one. Because to me, every single work assignment is a new learning experience. Of course, tis weekend involves a few commercial jobs, which makes it even more rewarding for me =)

new branding, new domain

Lately have been thinking of new names to set for my makeup biz. Since now do makeup full time ler, so wana portray a more professional image. Some ppl asked me ”I thought you already have a de-memoirs domain, sharing with silver-wolf right? Why need to set a new name?”

Right right, I do share a domain with silver-wolf (aka Lawrence) since 2-3yrs ago. That name is nice and I like it! but somehow dun feel that it’s a TRUE representation of me. Now have the chance to strike out on my own, so its a good time to revamp *change is good right?*
Couple of priority things to do:

1) think of a new brand aka company name
2) set up a new blog to record my makeup works (personal life still remain private. shhh….)
3) set up my own domain website using this brand name
4) fret about how to set up my new website coz me got no slightest idea how to set up a site!

after all these are done, then can start to market myself with this new image.
Just on Point 1 is already enuf to kill my brain cells! after a lot of PullHair/BangHead/ScreamOutLoud, i finally found a new name, a name that very much represent me! and my new name is……

*drums roll*

 

COLORPOTS! (stupid right, act wat mystery. tis blog name ardy shows wat)

 

why ‘Colorpots’?

Color – my style of makeup is daring use of colors and show it through photography                                                               

Pots – my shadows are mostly in individual pots, as opposed to palettes, which most makeup artistes use

there you go, this is how my new name came about.

Simple, and is a true representation of me. Good. the most crucial thing is done. now to proceed to the rest of the things. Another round of PullHair/BangHead/ScreamOutLoud to follow…
